Chicago's Anti-Gun Day Funds NRA Gun Camp

Yes, you read that correctly. Chicago recently held a "gun turn-in" day, where over 5500 guns were handed over in exchange for $100 MasterCard gift cards. Sixty guns (plus several BB guns, which netted $10 each) were turned in by Guns Save Lives, a Champaign, Illinois-based pro-gun group. The group netted $6,420, which it plans to use to purchase ammunition for its NRA camp and four bolt-action rifles to give away to kids attending the camp.

The Chicago Police Department probably did not have this in mind when they planned the gun buyback program.
